NLS Selected to Deliver Leadership Development to Healthcare Leaders

Nourse Leadership Strategies was selected by America's Essential Hospitals to design and deliver a three-day program on leadership to healthcare leaders selected for its Fellows program. The program will address emotional intelligence, strategic thinking and change leadership. Dr. Kevin Nourse will be co-facilitate with Dr. Alice Waagen.

The 12-month Fellows leadership development program is designed for rising senior leaders in significant clinical or administrative roles at member hospitals. The purpose of the Fellows Program is to educate participants on issues that impact essential hospitals and provide the necessary skills to lead strategically and advocate for policies and resources that promote the health of vulnerable patients.

America’s Essential Hospitals is the leading association and champion for hospitals and health systems dedicated to high-quality care for all, including the most vulnerable. Since 1981, America’s Essential Hospitals has initiated, advanced, and preserved programs and policies that help these hospitals ensure access to care. We support members with advocacy, policy development, research, and education.

Dr. Kevin Nourse to join the faculty of the Fielding Evidence-Based Coaching Program

Dr. Nourse has been selected to join the faculty of the Fielding Graduate University Evidence-Based Coaching Program. This multidisciplinary-based coach certification program can be completed in one year through a combination of online, teleconferencing, and face-to-face sessions. It lasts 15 months and prepares students to become executive coaches.

 

Kevin attended Fielding from 2002-2009 to complete his doctoral program in human and organizational systems. His research focused on resilience among middle managers working in New Orleans organizations impacted by Hurricane Katrina. 

Nourse Leadership by Ludwig Cancer Research to conduct a leadership training needs assessment

Nourse Leadership Strategies was chosen by Ludwig Cancer Research based in New York City to conduct a leadership development needs assessment initiative and design a program for its scientific leaders.

 

Ludwig Cancer Research is an international community of distinguished scientists dedicated to preventing and controlling cancer. American businessman Daniel K. Ludwig began to support cancer research with the establishment of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in 1971. 

Nourse Leadership by CSHA to design and facilitate a leadership academy

Nourse Leadership Strategies was chosen by the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA) to design and facilitate a leadership academy for its members.

 

The program will include a kick-off program, self-assessment, development goal setting, webinars, a leadership project, and learning teams. It will be launched in August 2018.​

Nourse Leadership Strategies was chosen by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to design and develop a series of online webinars on various leadership topics for its members. 

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 191,500 members and affiliates who are audiologists; speech-language pathologists; speech, language, and hearing scientists; audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel; and students.

Nourse Leadership selected by Hi-Desert Medical Center

Dr. Kevin Nourse was selected by Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, CA to provide leadership development services. 

 

Hi-Desert Medical Center has a long legacy of providing first-rate health care services for the Morongo Basin community. In 1972, a consolidation of two previously existing hospital districts — the Hi-Desert Memorial Hospital in Yucca Valley and the Twentynine Palms Hospital District — resulted in the development of the current medical center, which affiliated with Tenet Healthcare on July 15, 2015.

  

Nourse Leadership Strategies selected by Arrowhead Regional Medical Center

Dr. Kevin Nourse was selected by Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA to provide leadership team coaching services.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a 456-bed university-a liated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and operated by the County of San Bernardino. The hospital, located on a 70-acre campus in Colton, California, is a designated Level II trauma center. ARMC operates a regional burn center, a primary stroke center, a behavioral health center located on the hospital campus, four primary care centers including three family health centers, and provides more than 40 outpatient specialty care services. 

Nourse Leadership selected by Desert Regional Medical Center

Dr. Kevin Nourse was selected by Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA to provide leadership development services. 

Founded in 1948, Desert Regional Medical Center has long been a part of the Palm Springs community. This 385-bed tertiary acute-care hospital includes an emergency department that is the Coachella Valley’s only designated trauma center, serving patients from the San Gorgonio Pass to the Arizona border in Southeastern California. 

Dr. Nourse invited to write an article on mentoring for court reporters

Dr. Kevin Nourse was invited by the National Court Reporters Association to write a feature article about mentoring for the Journal of Court Reporting. The article will focus on how mentoring for new court reporters can enable their success and enhance their career resiliency.

Dr. Kevin Nourse spoke to the Idea Swap gathering of the American Society for Association Executives about key insights gained from a study he conducted on leadership mentoring best practices. The session included over 40 association leaders and occured in Loudon County, VA.

NLS selected for a sixth year by ASHA to deliver leadership training

Nourse Leadership Strategies was selected for a sixth year by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to deliver a leadership development program (LDP) to its members. 

 

The program consists of a kickoff workshop, developmental planning, self-assessment, a series of nine webinars, self-factilited learning teams, and a leadership project. The participants will consist of two cohorts of 30 ASHA members each. 

 

The program will be delivered by Dr. Kevin Nourse and Dr. Alice Waagen.

 

Dr. Nourse to deliver kick-off program for a leadership development program

March 30, 2015

Dr. Kevin Nourse will be co-presenting with Dr. Alice Waagen to kickoff a new cohort in the Leadership Development Program of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association  (ASHA). The day long session will focus on emotional intelligence and leadership project planning. This cohort of 30 speech-language pathologists and audiologists is the ninth cohort to participate in the program.

Dr. Nourse will be co-presenting with Dr. Lynn Schmidt about their upcoming book, Intentional Resiliency.
