Dr. Nourse selected to coach scientific leaders by the National Cancer Institute

June 16, 2020

Dr. Kevin Nourse was selected the the National Cancer Institute to coach senior scientific leaders. The engagement will include 360-degree assessment, use of the Hogan Personality Assessment, goal setting, alignment, and on-going coaching. 

Kevin previously worked with NCI over ten years ago as a coach associated with a formal leadership development offered to middle managers. 

Revisiting Resilience: Programs for the Healthcare Executives of Southern California

Dr. Kevin Nourse delivered two virtual session to members of the Healthcare Executives of Southern California on May 1 and 15, 2020. The program was titled "Revisiting Resilience: Strategies to Thrive in the New Normal."

The program focused on the unique challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the science of resilience, and actions participants could take to build and sustain their resilience.

One participant noted in her evaluation: "Thank you so much for the opportunity to learn from Dr. Nourse and for sending us this handout!  I hope HCE can put on more programs like this one in the future. There was so much great content that Dr. Nourse spoke about and I wanted to re-watch it and take detailed notes."

Nourse Leadership chosen by America's Essential Hospitals to Delivery Leadership Training

May 15, 2020

Nourse Leadership Strategies was selected for a second year to deliver a leadership development program for the Fellows Program offered by America's Essential Hospitals.​

The ​Fellows Program is a 12-month, multi-faceted program that equips emerging leaders around the USA with the skills and knowledge to lead their institutions and advance the cause safety net hospitals. Nourse Leadership will deliver the first of three sessions focused on strategic leadership. 

Dr. Nourse noted, "We are excited to support AEH for a second year in developing up and coming leaders in healthcare. Safety net hospitals play a critical role in ensuring Americans have access to quality healthcare."

Because of the COVID pandemic, the program will be delivered to participants via Zoom video conferencing. 

 

Dr. Kevin Nourse spoke to Association Executives

July 24, 2019

Dr. Kevin Nourse spoke to a group of 400 executives leading scientific and technical associations as the keynote presenter at ACESSE19. Kevin's talk was titled "Leading and Managing Change in an Age of Accelerations." 

The conference was offered by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE).

Dr. Kevin Nourse to speak to ophthalmic executives

May 1, 2019

Dr. Kevin Nourse will speak to ophthalmic administrative executives about resilient leadership on May 6, 2019 in San Diego. His session will be delivered to graduates of the Certified Ophthalmic Executives program with the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA).

NLS Selected to Deliver Leadership Development to Healthcare Leaders

January 15, 2019

Nourse Leadership Strategies was selected by America's Essential Hospitals to design and deliver a three-day program on leadership to healthcare leaders selected for its Fellows program. The program will address emotional intelligence, strategic thinking and change leadership. Dr. Kevin Nourse will be co-facilitate with Dr. Alice Waagen.

The 12-month Fellows leadership development program is designed for rising senior leaders in significant clinical or administrative roles at member hospitals. The purpose of the Fellows Program is to educate participants on issues that impact essential hospitals and provide the necessary skills to lead strategically and advocate for policies and resources that promote the health of vulnerable patients.

America’s Essential Hospitals is the leading association and champion for hospitals and health systems dedicated to high-quality care for all, including the most vulnerable. Since 1981, America’s Essential Hospitals has initiated, advanced, and preserved programs and policies that help these hospitals ensure access to care. We support members with advocacy, policy development, research, and education.

Dr. Kevin Nourse to join the faculty of the Fielding Evidence-Based Coaching Program

October 10, 2018

Dr. Nourse has been selected to join the faculty of the Fielding Graduate University Evidence-Based Coaching Program. This multidisciplinary-based coach certification program can be completed in one year through a combination of online, teleconferencing, and face-to-face sessions. It lasts 15 months and prepares students to become executive coaches.

 

Kevin attended Fielding from 2002-2009 to complete his doctoral program in human and organizational systems. His research focused on resilience among middle managers working in New Orleans organizations impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
